Q3 2025 - Jul 15
Our July 2025 (Q3) meeting again took place at ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge for our non-registered charity meeting.
For this meeting, we had for Gold sponsors that we would like to extend a huge thank you to:
Our sponsors play a huge role in our quarterly meetings. They ensure that none of our presenters go home empty handed and help us top up the $10,000 goal, if needed.
Check out our Sponsor page, to learn more about our platinum sponsor and how to get involved in this program.
New Member Draw!
As we did last meeting, we started things by recognizing the new members in the group and had a special door prize draw just for them.
Finding new members is critical to helping the 100 Men grow. It helps inject new energy and enthusiasm, gets the word out, provides new networking opportunities, and more.
We will try to continue this tradition so, if you have any friends or family who might be interested, please let them know. Aside from being a part of something awesome, they've got a great chance of winning!
Wilkie Award - Robbie Ryan
The Wilkie Award recognizes someone from the group that embodies the spirit of our late co-founder Keith Wilkinson. We consider The Wilkie to be a noble and prestigious honour!
Robbie is a fixture at 100 Men meetings. He can be counted on to bring good energy, positive vibes, and a welcoming smile. Robbie is an eager promoter of the 100 Men on social media and always willing to share a glowing review of our group (including in our promotional videos).
Robbie shared a quick word after receiving the award to note Keith's role in getting him involved and what the group has meant to him.
Congrats Robbie! We appreciate you.
Guest Speaker: Derek Wiggan

We were excited to have long-time Calgary Stampeder Derek Wiggan speaking with us for this meeting. Derek is recently retired after spending most of his 9-year career as a defensive lineman with the Stamps.
The theme of Derek message was paying it forward and understanding the profound butterfly effect that an act of kindness can have on people's lives - even if you are not aware of it.
Derek shared a few examples from his life such as the time that a community coach advocated for Derek and helped him get financial support to attend a private school that then snowballed into other things, including college.
He wanted the group to know that you may not know the impact you have immediately, but your generosity and positivity can mean the world for others. Know that this world needs people like us to inspire and motivate others.
Thanks for sharing your time and message with us Derek!
Previous recipient: BGC Airdrie Club
Like a true local charity, the BGC staff were all volunteering at a casino night to raise money for the club. They promised to return to the next meeting and share photos of the awesome new facility they're building!
On another note, we received a wonderful message from one of the runner-up recipients - Bethany Care Foundation. They were able to get their music therapy program off the ground because of our donation.
This is a direct result of the sponsorship program and our group being able to have more than 100 people at a meeting. It means that more than group benefits from your generosity.
Good job men and thank you Bethany!
Q3 2025 Presentations:
We heard next from our three presenters.
Airdrie Nordic Club
Laurie and Megan from the Nordic Club presented first and talked about the goal of their club - to bring low-cost outdoor winter activity opportunities to Airdronians. They told a couple of heart-warming stories of past participants. One was Ola - an immigrant who had never experienced the 4 distinct seasons of Airdrie and had no clue about an activity like cross-country skiing. Another participant - Maggie - was formerly an avid skier but recent health issues had confined her to a mobility scooter.
Both participants were able to sign up for one of the club's free Try It days. They were fitted for equipment, provided coaching, and had incredible, joyful, and rewarding days on the ski track.
Last year's Try It days were sold out, so there is need an interest. With $10,000, the club would be able to expand their program and pay for equipment, coaching, refreshments, and volunteer supplies. In addition, they'd be able to purchase snowshoe equipment.
Airdrie Angel
Jenna from Airdrie Angel was up next. Airdrie Angel was created in 2013 to support those going through a difficult time - to lift their spirit and show that their community cares.
Jenna shared an emotional video of their March recipient - a mother whose child is going through a rare form of eye cancer. Discovered after a routine eye, it has resulted in endless doctor's appointments, once-a-month travel to Toronto for treatment and, of course, incredible stress on their family.
Airdrie Angel was able to offer a package of local services and products to help lift their spirits including flowers, a movie theatre package, a house cleaning, a Little Gym membership, couples massage and restaurant gift card, a skip the dishes card, as well as $500.
The program has supported 143 individuals and families and secured over $265,000 in cash and gifts. They honour a 100% model meaning that each dollar in goes back out to community.
Airdrie Angel would earmark the $10,000 for the cash component of their curated packages.
Jenna also noted that they would like nominations. If you know of someone going through a difficult time and deserving of a 'pick me up', visit their website,
Iron Horse Park
Finally, we had Ray from Iron Horse Park. Any of us with children or grandchildren are likely familiar with Iron Horse - an 11 acre mini railroad park with over 2km of track, created by the Alberta Model Engineer Society.
The park has been in Airdrie since 1997. They converted what was a ‘sewage lagoon’ to a beautiful park on behalf of 1000’s of volunteer hours and sponsor support. They are a reason to visit airdrie with a fun, educational activity that brings smiles to countless children.
They also provide significant community green space, offer a fenced-in space for local groups (guides, scouts, etc) to host activities, and support other local groups including the food bank, school nutritional programs, children’s festival, Airdrie Abilities Society, and are a prime attraction of the Festival of Lights.
Iron Horse operates as a non-profit and have had to spend a lot of money recently on maintenance with more to come. They also are working on the purchase of new locomotive as their equipment is showing its age. Any money donated from the 100 Men would go directly to maintenance and equipment purchase.
——
For this meeting, between our paid members, the $2000 from sponsors and an additional $1125 from auction items, we had $14,225 in total! This meant that we would be giving away $10,000 to one of the groups and over $2000 to each of the other presenters.
After the online vote tally, Airdrie Angel was announced as the $10,000 recipient for Q3 2025. Congratulations!
Thank you to ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge for once again being fantastic hosts.
We’d also like to give a giant shout out to those that donated door prizes. Thank you to:
We will back at ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge for the next meeting - Oct 21st.
We also have an exciting friendraiser with the 100 Women Who Care group coming up on August 9th at Rival Axe Throwing. Stay tuned to our social media for more details!
See you then!
