Our April 2026 (Q2) registered charity meeting saw a great turnout at the always hospitable ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge!

Genesis Land Development was a co-Platinum sponsor along with Harco Developments, Borger Group of Companies, and Kelmar Ltd.

We feel very fortunate to have continued support from the business community - it takes a great deal of pressure off the organizing committee and allows us to deliver for our local community groups. We truly appreciate your support!

We were also proud to be supported by four Gold sponsors, and we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to:
Our sponsors play a huge role in our quarterly meetings. They ensure that none of our presenters go home empty handed and help us top up the $10,000 goal when needed.

Check out our Sponsor page to learn more about our platinum sponsor and how to get involved in this program.

New Member Draw
As we did last meeting, we kicked things off by recognizing new members and holding a special door prize draw just for them.

Growing our membership is critical to the success of 100 Men - bringing new energy, spreading the word, and building stronger community connections.

We plan to continue this tradition, so if you know someone who might be interested, please invite them! Not only will they be part of something meaningful, they’ll also have a great chance of winning a prize.

Wilkie Award - Kimble Christie
The Wilkie Award recognizes a member who embodies the spirit of our late co-founder Keith Wilkinson. We consider The Wilkie to be a noble and prestigious honour!

Kimble has been with the group for a long time - he's an active, engaged, and positive presence. What stood out most to us was his response to a recent presentation by Special Olympics Airdrie. Inspired by what he heard, Kimble volunteered to coach wherever help was needed.

Not only was this a selfless act, it represents one of the lasting impacts we hope 100 Men creates - encouraging members to get involved beyond our quarterly meetings.

Kimble’s first track practice is coming up, and we know Special Olympics Airdrie will be as lucky to have him as we are.

Congrats, Kimble!

Previous recipients: Festival of Lights
Our Q1 recipient returned to share what our donation has meant to them. While the winter holiday season seems a long way off, planning and prep happens year-round. A big chunk of our donation will go to supporting one of Festival's most popular attractions - the train ride!

We look forward to seeing the smiling, rosy cheeks of children as thy tour around Nose Creek Park.

Q2 2026 Presentations:
We again experimented with our agenda this meeting, starting with our presentations before moving to a charity roundtable discussion.

Meals on Wheels
First up was Meals on Wheels - a staple in Airdrie providing nutritious meals to those that need it - primarily seniors. Meals on Wheels is unique in that it offers a sliding scale food delivery to suit all budgets.
And they deliver more than just a meal. Deliveries often come with wellness checks, warm smiles, and pleasant conversation.

In 2025, Meals on Wheels saw 28 drivers, 17000 volunteer hours, 7500 meals, and served 51 clients per month. Beyond nutrition, their work helps to allow people to remain in their home, maintain dignity, and feel less alone while providing connection for some of the most vulnerable in our society.

Any funds received would go directly towards lowering meal costs.

Airdrie Food Bank
Next, we heard from Megan at the Food Bank - another well-known and well-used service in Airdrie. Megan shared the four core services that the Food Bank provides:
  • Walk-in pantry: open to all during regular Food Bank hours;
  • Hamper Program: a by- appointment program that tailors 7-10 days of essential support);
  • Basics for Babies: a referral program in partnership with AHS;
  • Fuel for School and Snack Attack programs: supporting school kids by offering shelf-stable snacks to any kids that require them, plus gift cards for perishable products that they need.

It’s sobering to hear how frequently these programs are used - especially by children - and a reminder to reflect on the everyday comforts we may take for granted.

Any funds received would support school food programs.

Community Links
Finally, Deanna and Sara from Community Links took the stage. Community Links provides a broad range of services and are unique in the approach that they take: whatever the issue, Community Links ‘meets them where they are’ and helps them move forward.

Community Links offers free services to over 12,000 people. There is individual and family counselling, social programming for youth, mental health symposiums, senior's supports, rural programming, and many more services, programs, and resources.

Any money received would support existing programs to continue helping locals where they are.

Charity Roundtable
In lieu of a guest speaker this meeting, we had a roundtable with our there presenting groups to talk about charity in our community in 2026. They shared current challenges, hopes, and insights and offered an illuminating discussion from three of the pillar charity organizations in our community.

They were also asked one thing that we all could do in the next 30 days and we heard: support one another.

Times are tough right now. Text a friend you haven’t reached out to in a while, ask a neighbour how they are doing. We also heard that one of the single biggest health indicators for men is healthy relationships (more than diet, more than smoking).

Cheers to that.

Back to the vote!

We had another fantastic turnout and another single vote margin. With paying members, sponsorship, auction items, and other creative donations1, we were able to give away $19,250!

In a new format, we have decided to cap the 2nd and 3rd place amounts at $2500 per meeting and donating the remainder to the group with the highest vote. We did this because we want you to know that your vote counts and we know that large single donations can have a compounding impact.

So, for this meeting, Meals on Wheels and the Airdrie Food Bank walked away with $2,500, while Community Links received $14,250!

1One of our members let us know that his company allowed for a matching donation to local charities up to a certain amount. It meant an extra $1000 this meeting but we thought we would share it with others in case your company offers the same and you want to take advantage of it.

Thank you to ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge for once again being fantastic hosts.

We’d also like to give a giant shout out to those that donated door prizes. Thank you to:

  • Shams Mumtaz / A-List Security
  • Ron Chapman / Tiger Propane
  • Peter Flanagan / Maaco
  • Jams Airdrie
  • ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge
  • Genesis Land Development
  • Keith Yeoman / Yeoman Woodworks
  • Kimble Christie / Airdrie Sport Council

We will be back at ¡Glitch! Gaming Lounge for the next meeting one week later than normal:July 28th.

See you then!
